“For us, it’s all about service to our customers,” says Bruce Jeffries, Director of Absolute Electrical Cabling Services (AK) Ltd (Absolute). The business, which was established in 1994, carries out electrical design, build and maintenance work for many large corporate, banking and retail clients throughout Auckland.

Bruce states, “When a customer loses power or there’s a circuit fault, we have to be able to get to them fast. Both Bruce Jeffries and Tony Jeffries, the company’s other Director, use the OnlineAVL during the day to organise responses to urgent jobs, and for overall scheduling and reporting. The Office Manager views the OnlineAVL to update customers on expected ETAs and ensure the closest vehicle is sent to any given job. The Contracts Supervisor, Neil Stratful, also looks at the OnlineAVL to keep an eye on job start and finish times.
“We have just won a new retail client and they really appreciate that we have comprehensive visibility of our vehicles and can provide accurate ETAs,” comments Bruce.

We use the reports to see exactly what distance a vehicle travels to get from point A to point B and how long it takes. We put Geofences around our suppliers so we can remotely notify our vehicles where the closest supplier is and how to get there if they are in an area they are unsure of. And we know just how long an electrician is at a job, to ensure accurate billing.
He continues, “Navman Wireless also gives us peace of mind regarding security. We have late-model vehicles that carry expensive electrical material. If a vehicle was stolen, we’ve got the tracking we need to find it fast.”
